Flying in January? With more than 140 films and 500 hours of TV onboard Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon flights, it’s hard to know what to watch first

1. Venom: the stars teach you British slang

Tom Hardy and Riz Ahmed, the British stars of comic book adaptation Venom, are chuffed to break down the meaning of some British slang. Americans, take note!

2. Mirai: preview a story relatable for older siblings everywhere

Mamoru Hosoda, best known for blockbuster animes Summer Wars and The Boy and the Beast, is back with Mirai, a fantasy about a boy who finds his place after being threatened with the arrival of his baby sister. See a trailer for the whimsical film below and catch it onboard this month:

3. RBG: a look at this unlikely box office star

US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has become a pop culture icon in recent years, even earning the nickname of The Notorious RBG for her tough stance on promoting topics such as gender equality. The octogenarian’s cult status helped drive the US box office success of RBG, a documentary profiling her trailblazing career. Watch a clip from The Today Show’s report on the film’s success.

4. Sex and the City: the cast recalls embarrassing moments

Few shows defined a generation the way Sex and the City did. As season five airs onboard this month, watch as the cast share their most embarrassing moments from the show in a 2015 appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

5. Sharp Objects: Amy Adams and Gillian Flynn talk about the HBO adaptation

Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn makes her first foray into television as the co-producer and co-writer of Sharp Objects, based on her first published novel about a reporter investigating the murder of two girls. Flynn and star Amy Adams visited CBS This Morning to talk about the series.

6. We the Animals: go behind the scenes of this indie drama

The story of three brothers’ tumultuous childhood, We the Animals was one of the standout films at last year’s Sundance film festival. Here, the first-time young actors talk about the movie-making process.

7. Smallfoot: hear Zendaya’s theme song for the animated hit

Animated film Smallfoot features a talented voice cast that includes Channing Tatum, James Corden, Zendaya and even basketball superstar LeBron James. Hear Wonderful Life, Zendaya’s theme song for the film, below:

8. Bad Times at the El Royale: Dakota Johnson talks about Chris Hemsworth

Bad Times at the El Royale has a star-studded cast that includes Jon Hamm, Jeff Bridges and Cynthia Erivo. However, Dakota Johnson revealed on The Ellen Show that she was distracted by one co-star in particular.

9. Juliet, Naked: get critic Mark Kermode’s take on the film

Based on the novel by Nick Hornby, Juliet, Naked is the love story between an elusive former rocker and the girlfriend of an obsessed fan. English film critic Mark Kermode reviews it here (spoiler: he’s a fan).

10. Blaze: Ethan Hawke and Ben Dickey discuss the country music biopic

Blaze – the story of unsung Texas musician Blaze Foley – is the latest directorial effort by actor Ethan Hawke. At this interview with radio station KEXP, Hawke and star Ben Dickey talk about the film’s inspiration and perform some of Foley’s songs.
