Triangle Park, an Emerging CBD in Manila

This mixed-use development features healthcare facilities, hotels, shopping malls and a burgeoning hub for public transit in the Philippines

Triangle Park is a fast-developing central business district in Metro Manila’s Quezon City, the largest and most populous city in the Philippines. The 250-hectare area sits on the north side of Metro Manila’s major highway, EDSA, which circles the sprawling capital region.

Originally intended as a hub for government departments, the area is home to numerous national institutions, from the Statistics Authority to the Bureau of Internal Revenue. It’s also become a prominent area for healthcare facilities, such as the Veterans Memorial Medical Center and the Philippine Children’s Medical Center.

Green spaces include the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center, which features a lake, a wildlife rescue centre and an amphitheatre – it’s a popular spot for school field trips. Also sprinkled throughout Triangle Park are malls and offices, including the headquarters of the country’s main television stations.

Triangle Park is set to become a hub for the capital region’s transportation network. In 2017, construction began on Grand Central Station, which will connect the light rail system and several rapid transit lines. Metro Manila is choked by road traffic, and Grand Central Station could be a game-changer for getting around the city.
