Dhaka Metro Rail

After years of underinvestment in infrastructure, Bangladesh is now rolling out multiple initiatives to upgrade its transport systems across the country. One of the most notable projects is the Dhaka Metro Rail, which is expected to open in 2021. Additionally, high-speed train services between Dhaka and Chattogram – Bangladesh’s main port city – are expected to start in 2025, shortening the rail journey from around five hours to just under one.

After Hours: Izumi
