Puri Indah is an emerging business district in West Jakarta, near the Indonesian capital’s airport and seaport. Development there is mostly high-end; the area houses some of Jakarta’s priciest homes and office spaces. This new CBD is close to Pondok Indah, an upscale suburb known for its country club and international schools.
The district’s major stakeholder is Pondok Indah Group, which has built a posh residence, the Windsor, along with a nearby mall and office tower. The company wants to expand the area with a convention centre, a luxury hotel and a second mall, but the details are still unclear. It also owns the Pondok Indah Hospital, a private facility in Puri Indah’s centre.
Other development is driven by Lippo Group and Ciputra, both large, Indonesia-based property developers. Lippo Group operates the St Moritz complex, including a large office tower, shopping malls, upmarket residences and a JW Marriott hotel, which will open soon. Ciputra, meanwhile, is now constructing another superblock that matches this setup, called Ciputra International.
There are also plans to turn a river section of Puri Indah into a tourist destination, with restaurants and plenty of parking.
