Last year, reviews site TripAdvisor started collecting reviews for airlines – to date, there are more than 500,000 reviews of more than 500 airlines. This year, the site launched Travellers’ Choice to identify those airlines with consistently high scores. Airlines that scored 3.8 out of five over 90 per cent of the time were awarded this status. Cathay Pacific was noted for its excellent service in particular.
‘With Travellers’ Choice, we want to recognise the best of the best,’ says Jami Counter, TripAdvisor’s vice president of business development. ‘It’s based on what our travellers are saying, so the airline reviews are the core component that fuel this. The questionnaire that reviewers complete was considered, too – it covers everything from check in, comfort, inflight entertainment and food, which makes it relevant to air travel.’
Julian Lyden, general manager, marketing, loyalty programmes and customer relations at Cathay Pacific, says: ‘What TripAdvisor offers us is a credible source for consumers because the reviews of our product and service are straight from the customer’s mouth.’
Thanks to everybody who gave Cathay Pacific positive feedback.
